Dr. Olebogeng Selebi is a future of work (FoW) and strategic communication expert at the University of Pretoria’s Department of Business Management. She also serves as the Deputy Director of the Centre for the Future of Work (CFoW) and was formerly the Associate Coordinator for the South African SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) Hub. Dr. Selebi believes in using research-based, academically sound, real-world education and workplace practices to promote societal growth. She is on the Board of Trustees of Momentum FundsAtWork (which oversees several funds) and the Board of Directors at the Gordon Institute of Business Science. Dr. Selebi earned a PhD in communication management from the University of Pretoria.
Her PhD research resulted in the development of a communication framework for South Africa’s National Development Plan (NDP). She holds qualifications in communication, media, and economics from the Universities of Graz (Austria), Porto (Portugal), and Milan (Italy). She has enormous teaching experience, having lectured roughly 2000 undergraduate and postgraduate students every year since 2014. Her professional experience includes included a visiting lectureship at HAN University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. Prior to her academic career, she worked as a Junior Communication Consultant for Burson-Marsteller Africa. She also had the honor of hosting the first Nobel Prize Dialogue event ever held on African territory.
