Youth Futures
Mastercard Youth Futures Research Project
The Youth Futures in Dignified and Fulfilling Work in Africa project is a three-year research initiative dedicated to advancing opportunities for young people across Africa. It explores how youth can access quality education, relevant skills, and meaningful work that supports prosperity and dignity.
The project is built around four key pillars — youth preparedness, indigenous enterprises, policy and industrial regulation, and a data repository — supported by a Community of Practice that fosters shared learning and collaboration.
Through tools such as an AI-powered career guidance platform, data-driven insights, and enterprise toolkits, Youth Futures aims to bridge the gap between education, skills development, and the evolving world of work — helping Africa’s young people thrive in the economies of today and tomorrow.
