Dr David Yusuf

Dr. Oluwasegun David Yusuf is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for the Future of Work at the University of Pretoria. In his post-doctoral research, he explores and focuses on Youth Futures, Smart Migration Governance, Workforce Integration, Digital Tools and Artificial Intelligence in the South African context. He holds a PhD in Public Policy from the University of Pretoria, where his dissertation researched Migration Management in Nigeria from a Public Policy perspective and using a thematic analysis approach. In his dissertation, he explored migration governance first from a global, then continental and at the country level, to develop legal, financial, best practice, collaborative, public policy development themes and recommendations beneficial to a fair, orderly, predictable and explicable migration management framework for Nigerian migrants. His PhD research was supported by a tripartite grant involving the Carnegie Corporation of New York, Partnership for African Social and Governance Research in Nairobi, University of Pretoria Department of Research and Innovation and the School of Public Management and Administration.

Having previously worked on Migration and Policy related projects, his current work at the Centre now aims to bridge academic research with real-world impact and outcomes with dimensions which connect migration governance, the workforce, youths and public policy perspectives using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
